Fall

I love the beauty God gave fall.

The color is magnificent. The temperature is perfect. The air is dense.

Sitting on the patio with Midge in the cool mornings while drinking coffee and eating the pecans that have dropped off the tree is a real treat. Soon there be a hard frost and the persimmons will be ready to eat.

The bird feeder is full of seed and we'll watch the birds. Soon the woodpeckers will be back. A barn owl has been visiting.

There's no more yard work.

What a wonderful time of the year.

Janice and I like this time of year too. We like drives around Lake Overholser this time of year just to look at the foleage.

I've noticed when flying back to Oklahoma, that from 30,000 feet, everything in Oklahoma just looks brown and dead. But when you get on the ground and see it all up close, all of the beautiful color comes out.

There are probably some good parallels that a preacher would draw there. :)

Hey, Overholser is my turf!! I started driving around it in the 60's and regularly since the 70's.

Midge and I have had some good trips, especially if it's raining. Coffee and bones!

Ken, it's good news and bad news. Good news is the Cowboys lost. The bad news is a Texas football team won.

Dad wouldn't allow us to ever root for Texas football teams, college or otherwise.
